FRANKLIN - Judith E. Shumaker, a lifelong resident of Franklin, Massachusetts, who passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the age of 79. Judy was born on October 9, 1944, in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Lillian and Ernest McLaughlin.
Judy attended Franklin High School and graduated with the Class of 1964. Following graduation, she proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class, receiving an honorable discharge.
She dedicated many years of her life to her career at Crosby, where she worked from 1977 to 2020, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
In addition to her professional life, Judy was passionate about various hobbies. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling to the family camp in Maine. She had a talent for photography and loved capturing moments with her camera. Judy was also musically inclined and found joy in playing the guitar. Additionally, she was an avid sports enthusiast, having played varsity field hockey, basketball, and softball.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lillian McLaughlin, father, Ernest McLaughlin, brother, Ernest McLaughlin, and daughter, Shirley Shumaker.
She is survived by her brothers, Gerald McLaughlin and James McLaughlin, and sister, Thyra McPhee. Judy is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Robinson and Kaitlyn Morse, and great-grandchildren, Caden Levine, Coleton Levine, Cooper Levine, Savannah Robinson, and Mackenzie Robinson.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, with a service to follow at 7:00 PM.
Judy will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
