Jeanne M. Collins, 79, on January 31, 2024

Jeanne M. (Cronin) Collins of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Born in North Attleboro MA on October 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. Cronin Jr and the late Virginia (Buffum) Cadoret.

She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur Collins Jr., who passed away July 11, 1986, and with whom she shared her life with since June 22, 1963.

Jeanne also shared 10 wonderful years with her partner the late Ralph “Ralphie” Boyle.  During those 10 years together, they welcomed their grandchildren. Grandma Jeanne and Grandpa Ralphie were very proud grandparents! 

Growing up in Attleboro, Jeanne graduated from Attleboro High School in 1963 and shortly after graduation married her sweetheart Arthur who she met at Jolly Cholly’s.  Jeanne held various jobs which included working at Balfour, Fernandes Supermarket where you would find her in the bakery department where she developed her love of baking and cake decorating. She also worked at Howard H. Sweet & Son and later moved to the North Attleboro School Department where she worked as a cafeteria worker “Lunch Lady” at the Martin School until her retirement. 

In her younger years, Jeanne loved decorating special birthday cakes for her children and she was well was known for her chocolate chip brownies and peanut butter balls which were frequently requested by family and friends!  Jeanne also enjoyed hosting summer cookouts and many holiday gatherings, She loved to visit the local casinos, holiday craft fairs,  lunch with her girlfriends at Chelo’s, taking her grandchildren to Friendly’s or IHop for alone time with Gram.  She also enjoyed card nights, taking Caribbean cruises and spent many summers vacationing in Bridgeton ME. Jeanne also loved watching The Hallmark Channel and Lifetime EXCEPT when the Patriots were playing, she was a True Patriot Fan!

She is survived by her three daughters; Colleen (Collins) Champagne and her husband Paul of South Attleboro, their children Kimberly Masinda and husband Jason of Attleboro and Stephanie Champagne and fiancée Darcey Thomas of Lanesville, IN, Cheryl Collins and her children Dylan and Haleigh of North Attleboro, Christine (Collins) Varjian and her husband David of Franklin.

Jeanne cherished spending time with her family and her 4 grandchildren; Kimberly, Stephanie, Dylan and Haleigh and her 2 great grandchildren Aubrey and Connor.  

She was the dear sister of Michael Cronin and his wife Marilyn of Norton MA, Carol Cronin and her husband Robb Rollins of Hampton CT, Stephen Cronin and his wife Leanne of North Attleboro MA, Maureen Cronin and her partner Bill Pariseau, Mary Ellen Cronin, Daniel Cronin III and his wife Theresa all of Attleboro MA, Julia Murphy and her husband David of Summersville SC and Gerald Cadoret and his wife Denise of Pascoag RI.  She also leaves behind several adored nieces and nephews.

Per Jeanne’s request, visiting hours will be omitted. All services will be held privately and Jeanne will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum in Attleboro Falls, at which time she will be reunited with her late husband, Arthur.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, North Attleboro, MA.
