Born in Pawtucket, RI on May 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles Horton and Mable (Bowman) Horton.

Violet dedicated 12 years as a Sunday school teacher and over 30 years as an active member of the altar guild. They were also devoted members of the Plainville Grange for over two decades.

In her quiet moments, Violet enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading books. She took pride in her son David, who served his country with honor. Violet is survived by her only living son, Raymond, niece Joan Grzenda, and daughter-in-law Becky Grzenda.
