NORTH ATTLEBORO - Denise A. (Gaboury) Gaudette, 79, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully at her home in Falmouth, MA on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Born in Attleboro, MA on December 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Arthur F. Gaboury and the late Anna M. (McHugh) Gaboury. Denise grew up in North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1962. Denise also obtained an Associate’s Degree from Bridgewater State University. She resided in North Attleboro most of her life, but recently lived in Falmouth, MA.
In 1966, Denise married Dale A. Gaudette of North Attleboro. They were married for 57 years. They have three children: Jill F. Shaughnessy who resides in North Attleboro with her husband, Steven. Jill and Steven’s daughter, Anna M. Shaughnessy, currently lives in Worcester, MA. Dana A. Gaudette, who currently resides in North Attleboro. Gideon Gaudette and his wife Kerri and their sons, Jack and Joseph, all of whom live in North Attleboro.
Denise was a paraprofessional for the North Attleboro Public Schools for over 20 years. She worked at Roosevelt Avenue School, Amvet Boulevard School, and Joseph W. Martin, Jr. School during her career. After retiring as a paraprofessional, Denise worked as a hearing and vision screener for the North Attleboro Public Schools for many years. Denise was also a substitute paraprofessional working primarily at the Early Learning Center and Falls School in recent years.
Denise was an avid reader and was most happy surrounded by her family, books and the beautiful beaches of Falmouth. She also enjoyed movies and would take her daughter, Dana, to the cinema every Sunday. Denise especially loved to go out to dinner on the Cape with her family and talk all night about books, movies, and current events.
Denise was a devoted Catholic and generously contributed to multiple charities throughout her lifetime. She leaves behind her husband, three children, three grandchildren, and her brother Thomas F. Gaboury. Denise’s oldest brother, Daniel A. Gaboury, passed away in February of 2020.
A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be celebrated in her honor by the Reverend David A. Costa on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls. Visitation has respectfully been omitted. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Denise’s name to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter or to the Catholic Charities USA.
