PROVIDENCE - Ronald Mello, Sr., 75, of Providence, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Born in Providence, RI on March 1, 1948, he was a loving son of the late Anthony and Alice Mello.
Ron served his community faithfully, patrolling the streets of his city from 1974 to 1996 as an Officer for the Providence Police Department. His favorite times were those spent in the company of his adoring family.
He was the devoted father of Ronald Mello Jr. and Brian Mello (PFD) and the dear brother of the late James Mello, Dorothy Sanchez, Jean Mello, and George Mello.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1 PM in the chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visitation is respectfully omitted. Arrangements are entrusted to the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, North Attleboro, MA.
