Judith A. Svendsen, 81, on December 26, 2023

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Judith Ann Svendsen, 81, a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Norman M. Svendsen of North Attleboro.

Born in Attleboro, MA on August 13, 1942, Judy was a loving daughter of the late Normand A. Letourneau and Evelyn (Hutchinson) Letourneau. She grew up in North Attleboro and was a graduate of Saint Mary's School in North Attleboro and the Dominican Academy in Plainville.

Judy had a fulfilling life, marked by dedication to her family and community. She held various jobs, including working alongside her family at the Clover Market in North Attleboro, at the Foxboro National Bank as a bank teller, and at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro in the accounts receivable department.

A woman of deep faith, Judy was a longtime parishioner of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Attleboro, where she taught catechism classes. She was an active member of the Attleboro Area Mothers of Twins Club.

Judy's adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, enjoying eighteen cruises with her husband Norm all over the world, including the Caribbean, Alaska, South America, and Europe. She had a passion for knitting and cherished the moments spent in the company of her adoring family.

In addition to her husband Norm, Judy is survived by her devoted children Norman A. Svendsen and his wife Gail of Attleboro, Kenneth B. Svendsen and his wife Elaine of Temple, PA, and Mary Beth Garneau and her husband Kenneth of Attleboro. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren Alex Rioux and his wife Katie, Aric Rioux, Brett Svendsen, Jessica White and her husband Christopher, and Timothy "Micky" Rioux all of Attleboro, and Holly Svendsen of Elizabethtown, PA.

She was the dear sister of Norma Lizotte and her husband Richard of Tennessee, Susan Jette of Attleboro, Robert Letourneau and his wife Shirley of Yarmouth, MA, Jerilyn Coffey and her husband Rick of Mansfield, MA, Andrea Andrews of Attleboro, Peter Letourneau and his wife Bethany of Hope, RI, and Richard Letourneau and his wife Kari of Attleboro.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor by the Reverend David A. Costa on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:30 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. The family requests that all those attending the funeral please report directly to the church that morning. There will be no public procession from the funeral home.
