NORTH ATTLEBORO - Nancy R. Bartlett, 79, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Francis T. Bartlett who passed away on April 30, 2004.
Born in Attleboro, MA on October 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Earl V. Evans and the late Ruth Harvey Evans Langille. Nancy grew up on a farm in North Attleboro and built a home across from that farm in 1966. She graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1962. She had resided in North Attleboro most of her life.
In 1962, Nancy married John “Jack” D. Shea of North Attleboro. They had three sons: Timothy J. Shea who resides in Putnam, Connecticut with his wife, Lorel, and their children; James, Connor, Madeline, and Rebecca. Michael W. Shea and his wife, Kim, and their children; Michael, Jr., John, and Zachary and his Spouse Taylor. Mark A. Shea and his daughter, Haily. Both Michael and Mark reside in North Attleboro. John D. Shea passed away at the age of 44 in 1986 in North Attleboro.
In 1985, Francis “Frank” Bartlett and Nancy were married. This union brought her special second family into her life: Kathy A. Bartlett and her children; Amanda lacovonne, Shawn Fontneau, and Caitlin Jones-Maynard. Tammy J. Faris and her children; Bethany Comey, Michael Fournier, and Jonathan Faris. Michael F. Bartlett and his wife, Lea and their children; Michelle Bartlett and Daniel Bartlett. Frank worked at VH Blackinton & Co., Inc. from 1965 to 2004. He was also a Justice of the Peace and a Notary Public.
Nancy was an expeditor and had been employed by VH Blackinton & Co., Inc. since 1980. She developed friendships with many fellow employees over the years that she worked there. She loved all animals, especially horses and cats. Nancy enjoyed helping Frank when he performed the many marriages he united over the years. Since 1983, she loved going to the Cape every year to socialize with her friends there. From 2006 until 2017, Nancy especially looked forward to her once-a-year trip to Aruba with her companion of 12 years, the late David Payette. Since 2017 she would return to beautiful Aruba every year. She enjoyed visiting with many members of the staff who worked at the Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive Resort and meeting with the same special visitors every year.
Nancy is survived by her three sons and their spouses, three second family members and their spouses, sixteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren who all live in the New England area. Nancy loved and enjoyed every moment she could spend with her family. She also loved and enjoyed her friends on Cape Cod.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are most warmly invited to attend, will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro and will be officiated by the Reverend Pamela Corcoran. Interment will follow the service in Arnold Mills Cemetery, 690 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland, RI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to the ASPCA.
