Richard J. Fontaine, 79, on December 16, 2023

ATTLEBORO - Richard "Dick" Joseph Fontaine, 79, of Attleboro, formerly a resident of Plainville, MA and Woonsocket, RI, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 16th, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living in Attleboro, MA surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born on July 24, 1944 in Attleboro, MA, he was a loving son of the late Ludger Fontaine and Blanche (Everton) Fontaine and stepson of the late Clarence Harmon.

A dedicated and hardworking individual, Dick owned and operated G&R Soldering in Attleboro Falls. Over the years, he served as a supervisor at Plainville Stock and Cullion Concrete in N. Smithfield, RI. In recent years, he worked at Fine Edge Tool & Stamping in Attleboro alongside owner Messias.

A true sports enthusiast, Dick had a passion for NASCAR and all forms of racing. Saturday nights often found him at Seekonk Speedway. He had a particular love for football, cheering for teams ranging from the Red Rocketeers to the Patriots. Dick also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, spending time at the beach, and traveling. A skilled golfer, he could always be found on the dance floor, bringing joy to those around him.

He is survived by his three daughters, Lynn Ferrucci, Christine Gordon, and Kendra Robinson. Dick leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, and his memory will be cherished by his siblings: Larry Fontaine and his wife Linda, Sandy Sweeney, Karen Harmon, Betty Barton and her husband Bruce, Chucky Fontaine, Mitchell Fontaine, Nancy Lou Fontaine, Laurie Fontaine, Lisa Fontaine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Donald Fontaine and Glenn Harmon.

Dick is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many step-siblings who will miss him dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Dick's life which will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
