QUINCY - Shirley Ann Riley, 76, a beloved resident of Quincy for forty years, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham. Born in Quincy, MA, on February 22, 1947, she was the loving daughter of the late Robert N. Sampson and Mary E. (Viera) Sampson.

Shirley's roots in Quincy ran deep, and she graduated from Quincy High School. Her professional journey led her to become a dedicated medical receptionist at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where she served with commitment until her well-earned retirement.

Beyond her professional life, Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures—playing computer games, creating delicious meals in the kitchen, and, most importantly, cherishing moments with her family. Her warm presence and caring nature touched the lives of many.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Michael J. Riley of Quincy, and her children Wayne W. Girard of North Attleboro, Melissa J. Girard of North Attleboro, Mary A. Riley of Quincy, and Lisa M. Colwell of Florida. She was the dear sister of Norman Sampson, Paul Sampson, Bobby Figueiredo, and Birtna Haulter. Shirley also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Sherry A. Girard and siblings Arlene Brown and Leo Figueiredo.

A prayer service will follow the visitation, commencing promptly at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery in Quincy will be held privately at a later date.
