Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home Obituaries

Dillon E. Achin, 28, on November 23, 2023

It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Dillon Edward Achin, 28, on Thursday, November 23, 2023.  Dillon was a miracle baby born on May 1, 1995 in Norwood to Delores (Condon) Achin and Donald H. Achin, Jr.

Dillon is survived by his fiancée Nancy Gillis of Norton and her son Hayden. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Achin and her partner Peter Benker of Attleboro, his brother, Donald Achin III of North Attleboro, his adored niece and nephews Cassi, Travis and Devin, his aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Dave Hassan of Poinciana, Florida, his aunt Deb Carter of Uxbridge, his aunt Pat Allgrove of North Attleboro and many cousins, other family members and friends.

Dillon grew up in North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School.  At the age of 16 Dillon was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, the disease that eventually would take his life.

Dillon had a huge range of interests – including dirt bikes and quads, karate, hiking, cleaning (if you know, you know), documentaries, and saving money like his Buppa and Pa taught him.  Dillon had the biggest heart and was the first one to notice if someone was sad, happy or just not quite right that day.  He could also talk to you about any subject and was willing to learn new details about the world.  He had an entrepreneur’s brain and constantly had new ideas for making the family business better.  Every dog that Dillon knew had a special place in life, he loved nothing more than spending time with them, walking them and giving them treats.

Visitation for Dillon will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  A prayer service, officiated by the Reverend David Costa, will be held at the conclusion of the visitation, beginning promptly at 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Dillon’s memory to a local charity.  Three of Dillon’s favorite charities are Friends Helping Friends in Need (PO Box 42, North Attleboro, MA 02761), the Attleboro Area Council for Children (PO Box 424, North Attleboro, MA 02761) and the North Attleboro Animal Shelter (40 Cedar Road, North Attleboro, MA 02760).
