Wayne A. Sturtevant, Sr., 52, of North Attleboro, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was born in New Bedford, MA on January 14, 1971, and was the loving son of David T. Sturtevant, Sr., and the late Melody J. (Gregory) Sturtevant.
Wayne spent his childhood in North Attleboro and attended North Attleboro High School. He pursued a career in landscaping and worked for several companies over the years, primarily at Fine Landscaping & Maintenance in Mansfield, where he served as a foreman. Wayne had a passion for various activities, including playing softball, enjoying video games with his children (his favorite games included sports games, wrestling, and Tomb Raider), fishing, and playing darts. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots.
In addition to his father, Wayne is survived by his devoted children: Kayla Butler of Kingston, NH; Melanie Sturtevant of Lakeside Marblehead, OH; Samantha Sturtevant of North Attleboro; and Wayne Sturtevant, Jr. of North Attleboro. He was the dear brother of: David Sturtevant, Jr. of Attleboro; June Kohler of Attleboro; and Bruce Sturtevant of North Attleboro. Wayne also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 2 nephews, 1 niece, 5 great-nephews, and 1 great-niece.
Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A funeral service in celebration of Wayne's life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation, beginning promptly at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held privately at a later date, at which time Wayne will be laid to rest in Plainville Cemetery in Plainville.
