Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home Obituaries

Dexter D. Harmon, 87, on August 30, 2023

Dexter David Harmon, 87, passed away at home on August 30th, 2023.

Born in Framingham, MA on May 23rd, 1936, he was the son of the late Elsie Hoey and Dexter Edward Harmon.

He attended Sacred Heart School in Pawtucket, RI and North Attleboro Public Schools.

He worked at North Attleboro High School for 29 years after which he retired and worked at the same school for an additional 13 years.  He also worked for many dry cleaners, including Interboro Cleaners and B & L Cleansers both in North Attleboro.

He was a Veteran of the Massachusetts Army National Guard from April of 1954 to November of 1962.

He was very interested in weather often nailing the forecast better than the professionals. He always walked several miles each day often making new friends along his routes.  He was very active in his retirement driving all over town making new friends and spending time with old ones. Most of all, he was a great dad, friend and a silent donator to charities.   He was a model human being.  He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife Janet, his three children Kevin, Christine and husband her Billy, Karen and her husband Dave, his granddaughter Morgan and his three grandsons William, Benjamin and Jacob.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service in celebration of Dexter’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation, beginning promptly at 6:00 PM, with the Reverend Pamela Corcoran officiating. Interment will be private.
