BARRINGTON, RI – Charles Wesley Agar, 85, a resident of Barrington, RI for 43 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Southeast Rehab and Skilled Care Center in Easton, MA. He was the beloved husband of Judith L. (Seyboth) Agar of Attleboro.
Born in New York, NY on October 15, 1937, he was a loving son of the late Frank Agar, Sr. and Margaret (Albert) Agar.
Charlie grew up in Fall River, MA and was educated at Friends Academy and Tabor Academy, excelling at wrestling while attending the latter. He went on to further his education, earning his Bachelor of Arts from Hobart College in Geneva, NY.
Upon graduation, he served his country proudly in the United States Airforce.
He was employed for many years in the sales field, first at the Xerox Corporation and subsequently retired from Miller Fluid Power as the regional sales manager for the New England area.
Charlie enjoyed running and ran in many marathons. He was also an avid scuba diver and enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots. However, his favorite times were those spent in the company of his adoring family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife, Judy, he is survived by his devoted children: Hallie E. Grant of Irvington, AL; Jeffrey G. Agar of Orlando, FL; and Kristen L. Carr of Needham, MA. He also leaves his eleven cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Frank E. Agar, Jr., Rose Quincey, Betty Lee Lovelace, and Sydel Thomas.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 5:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, with the Reverend Bernard Hinckley officiating. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.
