NORTH ATTLEBORO - Lawrence R. Griswold, 83, a resident of Arnold Road in North Attleboro since 1972, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 30, 2023 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Judith “Judy” (Love) Griswold.
Born in Mansfield, MA on March 10, 1940, he was a loving son of the late Merle Griswold and Helen (Dupre) Griswold.
Lawrence grew up in Mansfield and was a 1958 graduate of Mansfield High School.
He was employed by the Foxboro Company in Foxboro as a paint department supervisor, retiring in 2000 after 42 years of service.
A longtime faithful parishioner of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Attleboro, he also gave back to his community, volunteering at Madonna Manor in North Attleboro for 18 years.
Lawrence enjoyed being a member of his tennis league and bowling league, bicycling, and was interested in all sports. He was especially fond of watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. His favorite times were those spent in the company of his adoring family.
In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy, he is survived by his devoted sons: Richard Griswold of North Attleboro; Craig Griswold and his wife Regina of Johnston, RI; and Kevin Griswold and his wife Angela of North Attleboro. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren: Kyle Griswold and his wife Sarah and great-grandson Brock of Attleboro; Kayla Griswold of North Attleboro; Robert Esposito of Cranston, RI; Joseph Griswold of Coventry, RI; Stephanie Griswold of North Providence, RI; and Danny Griswold of North Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Patricia Randall of Foxboro.
He was the brother of the late Robert Griswold and father-in-law of the late Debbie Griswold.
A private graveside service will be held and Lawrence will be laid to rest at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Attleboro Falls.
