Thomas P. Burke, Jr., 90, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Centerville. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Muriel L. (Baptist) Burke, who passed away in April of 2021.
Born in Taunton, MA on January 31, 1933, he was a loving son of the late Thomas P. Burke, Sr. and Anna (Midura) Burke.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Burke was a longtime employee of Bank of America, retiring to Cape Cod in 1985.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Taunton, where he served as the church organist for many years.
He enjoyed bike riding with his wife, Muriel, and spending time at Menauhant Beach in Falmouth. He loved his dog, Cooper, who was his best friend and visiting with his great-niece, Grace.
He is survived by his brother, Barry Burke, and his wife Roberta of Taunton; and his sister, Ann Walsh of Kingston. He leaves his sisters-in-law, Karen Williams and her husband Chris of Falmouth, Gail Marsden of Taunton, and Cynthia Wardwell of Vero Beach; his niece, Erin Edwards of Falmouth and her children, Connor and Grace; his nephew, Daniel Williams and his wife Kristen and their sons, Sean, Rory, and Brody. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in his honor on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Saint Patrick's Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his name to the Falmouth Animal Shelter.
