Judith M. “Judy” Puccio, 78, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, July 3, 2023.
Judy was born on October 19, 1944, in Boston to two loving parents, Elmer and Blanche Thayer. Her father a machinist and mother a homemaker.
After graduating from Hyde Park High School, Judy worked as clerk typist and enjoyed spending her free time in Boston’s theater district. Judy met David J. "Dave" Puccio, Jr. in 1968 and they later married on June 28, 1969, and settled in North Attleboro, MA.
Realizing they needed more space for a growing family of 5 children, Judy and Dave moved to Plainville, MA where she lived for the past 45 years. Judy enjoyed her role as a homemaker and claimed to be the finest casserole maker ever to the chagrin of her children. She loved having her children along with all the neighborhood kids at their home. She loved bowling, the beach, game night with family and friends, and the family gatherings by the pool or the campground. She loved capturing these moments on film.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband David J. Puccio, Jr., her parents Elmer and Blanche Thayer, her brother Edward Thayer, and sisters Lorraine Woodward and Barbara Ferrone.
Judy is survived by her children, David Puccio, III of Bridgewater, MA, Donna [Kevin] Donahue of West Roxbury, MA, Michael Puccio of Woonsocket, RI, Christopher [Lisa] Puccio of East Corinth, VT, and Kevin [Kim] Puccio of North Attleboro, MA. Judy was a grandmother to Nathanael Puccio of North Attleboro, MA, Ryan Donahue of West Roxbury, MA and Savannah Puccio of North Attleboro, MA. Judy was the sister to Robert Thayer of Virgina and was the aunt to several nieces and nephews and many others that she considered family.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street, North Attleboro, MA. Following services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of refreshments and fellowship at the home of Kevin Puccio, 226 Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.
