Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home Obituaries

Lorraine T. "Lorrie" Prest, 82, on May 24, 2023

Lorraine T. "Lorrie" Prest, 82, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at home in Franklin on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

She was born to Clarice (Savoie) and Ernest Malouin, who died in WWII when she was very young. She was loved and raised by her mother and dad, Joseph Dwyer. Along with all of her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, John G. Prest, her son, John M. "Jack" Prest, and her granddaughter, Laura Paradis.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Rene "Red" Paradis of Franklin MA, her son Scott of Lecanto FL, her grandchildren; Rebecca and her husband Kevin Dumas and their children Adriana, Ava and Mason, John and his wife Jennifer Anderson and their daughter Kaydence, James and his wife Christina Anderson, and Joseph and his wife Eliza Paradis and their son Leon. She is also survived by her sisters and their husbands; Jacqueline and Paul Rushlow, Christine and Roger Gagnon, Nancy and David Sensenig. She was blessed with nieces and nephews who were dear to her.

Lorrie and John enjoyed their long married life together and were an inspiration to many of us. If there was music and a dance floor – they’d be twirling around on it.  If there was a vacation to be had, they were all in. Traveling to new places, seeing new things, having an adventure, and learning about a different culture was so enjoyable to them.

Her working years consisted of several administrative positions and she once had an article published in Office Pro. After working many happy years at MDCI in North Attleboro she retired and moved to New Hampton, NH and Fort Myers, FL. She appreciated the beauty of living in each of these places, eventually settling in Florida with Scott. During the last year of her life she lost her home in Hurricane Ian but was joyfully welcomed to Massachusetts to live with Donna and Red.

As much as that tells you the life events, it doesn’t tell you how special she was. Lorrie was a lifelong learner. She was interested in everything and would read anything you put in front of her. She was a writer, a friend to so many, a poet, an enthusiastic participant in anything,…

A service in celebration of Lorrie’s life, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
