CUMBERLAND – Barbara Theta (Martin) Franklin, 90, of Cumberland, RI passed away on May 25, 2022 in the Grandview Center.
Born in North Attleboro on October 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jospeh and Ivaloo (Bennett) Martin.
Barbara grew up in Plainville and attended the Plainville Schools and later worked for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for over 30 years. She resided in North Attleboro for more than 60 years where she a loved swimming and boating and just relaxing by the lake that she lived on.
Barbara enjoyed the beach and loved vacations on Hampton Beach. She spent many summers at the family’s camp on Prudence Island as a child and later brought her own boys there.
Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful loving and caring mother and grandmother to her three sons and her four grandchildren, and was considered a second mom to many of her sons' friends.
Barbara is survived by her son Timothy Franklin and his wife Nancy of Cumberland; her grandchildren, Corey Franklin and his wife Jade of North Attleboro, and Melissa Franklin Huffman of New Braintree, and Reece Franklin of Providence, and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons David and Peter Franklin and her grandson Craig Franklin.
Visiting for Barbara will be held in the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, on Friday June 10, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. A private burial will be held on Saturday.
