Umberto N. “Al” DiTullio, 92, on May 26, 2023

NORTH ATTLEBORO – Umberto N. “Al” DiTullio, at the age of 92, of North Attleboro, entered into eternal rest peacefully on May 26, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband for 46 years of the late Teresa F. (Buccini) DiTullio who passed away on January 18, 1998.

Born on July 26, 1930 in Castrovalva, Italy, he was a loving son of the late Oliviero and Maria (D’Intino) DiTullio.

Umberto immigrated to the United States in 1947. He worked many jobs and retired after many years of employment as a foreman for P. Cavalieri and Son. He served in the National Guard and was a reservist in the National Guard for 12 years.

A man of strong Catholic faith, he was a longtime communicant of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Attleboro.

He loved spending time on Cape Cod where he enjoyed quahoging with his family, making his delicious stuffed quahogs to share and cooking on the barbecue. Umberto also enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and doing yard work. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren most of all and loved to share his stories of his childhood in Italy with them.

He is survived by his three devoted daughters, Mary Windsor and her husband William of East Brunswick, NJ, Terry Taksar and her husband Bill of North Attleboro, and Anna Luongo and her husband Frank of Rehoboth. He is also survived by his cherished seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor by the Reverend David Costa on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Interment with United States Army National Guard honors will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls, at which time Umberto will be laid to rest with his late wife, Teresa. The family requests that all those attending the funeral, please report directly to the church that morning. There will be no public procession from the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Umberto’s name to the Arc of Bristol County, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703, which continues to provide services for Michael, Umberto’s grandson or to Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
