Suzanne M. Weaver, 82, a cherished resident of Plainville for over 55 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, surrounded by her loving family after a brief period of illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis V. Weaver, Sr., who passed away on June 5, 1978.

Born in Framingham, MA, on February 12, 1942, Suzanne was the loving daughter of the late Marshall G. McCarthy and Eleanor M. (Doherty) McCarthy. She dedicated many years of service as a correctional officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Framingham Women’s Prison.

Suzanne was a woman of deep faith, a devout Catholic, and an active and faithful parishioner of Saint Martha’s Parish in Plainville. She served as a dedicated faith formation teacher and participated in numerous retreats. Beyond her religious devotion, Suzanne cherished time spent with her family and found joy in crocheting afghans for her loved ones. She had a passion for travel, with Hawaii, California, and her favorite destination, Medjugorje, holding special places in her heart. Suzanne’s infectious sense of humor brought laughter to all who knew her.

Suzanne is survived by her children: Francis “JR” Weaver, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Plainville; Carol Kollath and her husband Richard of Mississippi; Peter McCarthy and his wife Danette of Holliston; Jeff Weaver of Franklin; Kathy Hawes of Vermont; and Ann Weaver of Mississippi. She is also survived by her sisters: Celeste Sawyer and her husband John of Marlborough; and Chris Rank and her husband Bill of North Carolina. Suzanne leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Frankie, Bella, Carlie, Nick, Kate, Taylor, Brett, Jenny, Kristy, and Skylar; as well as her great-grandchildren: Reiley, Eli, Tegan, Rory, Gideon, Adeline, Emma, Ava, Lilly, Myla, Kaia, and Addison.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during a time of visitation on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at Saint Martha’s Parish, 227 South Street, Plainville, celebrated by the Reverend Joseph Mozer. Suzanne will be laid to rest with her late husband, Francis, in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin, at a later date, privately.
