PLAINVILLE – Shirley H. Parenteau, 84, of West Bacon Street passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of George Parenteau for over 65 years.

Born October 29, 1933 in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late George and Shirley (Johnson) Paquin.

Shirley grew up in North Attleboro and lived in Norton for several years before moving to Plainville when she married George 65 years ago.

She was a 1952 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

Shirley worked as a home health aid in Attleboro.  She was a wonderful caregiver and was extremely compassionate and selfless.

She loved camping and she and George travelled the country in a converted 1963 GM Bus for 20 years.  Her favorite local camping spot was Horseneck Beach in Westport.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Debra Zaccardi and fiancé Scott

Hume of Plainville, Michelle “Shelly” Catanesye and husband of Acton, ME, George “Butch” Parenteau, Jr. and wife Jacklyn of Swanville, ME and Doug Parenteau of Plainville;

Two sisters: Gail Gould of Middleboro and Linda Perkoski of Onset; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by four siblings: Beatrice Waters, Sandra Lamoureux, Janet Soullier and Phillip Paquin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
