John F. Kinney, 57, on January 12, 2022

NORTH ATTLEBORO – John F. Kinney, 57, of Poppasquash Road passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at home.  He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Kinney and father of Colleen Kinney.

Born June 22, 1964 in Boston, he was a son of the late George and Joan (Ellis) Kinney.

John has been a resident of North Attleboro for the past 30 years.  He graduated from Roger Williams College and Boston Architectural Center.

He owned JFK Drawings, Models and Renderings for 12 years and also worked at Dakota Design Staff, Inc. for several years.

John was an architect, painter, chef, husband and father.  He was a wonderful human being and a quintessential Bostonian and he’s already greatly missed.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held in the early summer.

  • I had the pleasure of working with John at Woodbrier Associates. He was a very generous guy and was very proud of his family. He will be missed! Rest In Peace John.

  • I’m so sorry, Carolyn and Colleen. Your loss dwarfs everything else, and the worldwide community of small firm architects misses John greatly as well. When I see his infectious smile, it’s impossible not to hear his wonderful accent and hearty laugh. He was a supporter and a mentor to us all and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to call him my friend.

  2. I’m so sorry, Carolyn and Colleen. Your loss dwarfs everything else, and the worldwide community of small firm architects misses John greatly as well. When I see his infectious smile, it’s impossible not to hear his wonderful accent and hearty laugh. He was a supporter and a mentor to us all and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to call him my friend.
