Thomas P. Mournighan, 52, of Attleboro, formerly of North Attleboro, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at home. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. Symons of Attleboro. Born in Newport News, Virginia, on June 9, 1971, he was a loving son of William T. Mournighan and Estelle Y. (Morel) Mournighan.

Tom grew up in North Attleboro and received his education at Saint Mary-Sacred Heart School, graduating from Bishop Feehan High School. He furthered his education, earning his Associate's Degree in Computer Science from the New England Institute of Technology. Tom dedicated much of his professional life to Infranet Solutions in Quincy, MA, where he served as a Service Desk Manager.

Tom cherished his family dearly and found joy in spending time with his pug, sharing quiet moments cuddled on the sofa together. He had a passion for artistic endeavors, with a recent interest in making collages. Tom and his wife embarked on an unforgettable journey together, taking months off during 2018 to 2019 to travel throughout the United States, creating lasting memories.

Tom's resilience and strength were evident through his multiple organ transplants. He received a double-lung transplant in 2008 and a kidney transplant in 2016, demonstrating his remarkable courage and determination in overcoming significant challenges.

In addition to his beloved wife, Cathy, and his devoted parents, Bill and Estelle, Tom was the dear brother of James A. Mournighan and his wife Anna Matos-Mournighan.

A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be celebrated in his honor by the Reverend David A. Costa on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 58 Church Street, North Attleboro. Interment will be held privately at a later date, and a private visitation will be held. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, North Attleboro, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Pug Rescue of New England.

Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
