M. Jane Beaupre, 93, on November 18, 2023

M. Jane (Devine) Beaupre, 93, passed peacefully from this life on November 18, 2023  at her home, under the tender care of her husband of 73 years and their loving family.

Mrs. Beaupre was born on September 10, 1930 in Foxboro, MA to Frederick and Eileen (Hayes) Devine and was educated in Mansfield and Foxboro public schools. She was a 1948 graduate of Mansfield High School.

Jane met her future husband, Richard “Dick” Beaupre at a local dance shortly after he returned from his military service in the US Army. A whirlwind romance ensued and Dick vowed to marry Jane on only their second date. They wed on November 4, 1950 and soon made their home in North Attleboro.

A family of four children followed, and Mrs. Beaupre always made them her first priority. She was employed over the years as an administrative assistant by the Town of North Attleboro and as bookkeeper for several local businesses. She enjoyed volunteering at church and civic functions, singing as a member of the “Harmonettes” barbershop chorus, camping, traveling, sewing, crafting and cooking delicious meals for family. Her greatest joy was her time spent as “Mammie” to her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing board and card games, watching Patriots football and sharing endless laughter.  A voracious reader and “grammar maven”, she delighted in her dominance at family games of Scrabble and Boggle.

Mrs. Beaupre was also an advocate for organ donation, having donated her own kidney in 1967 to her beloved brother, Fran, who predeceased her in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents, siblings Frederick Jr (“Bud”) and Bernard Devine, Barbara Hickey, and her dear special "son”, Peter Santiago.

Along with her beloved husband Dick, Jane is survived by her children: Suzanne and Steve Lukovics of Cranston, RI with whom she resided, James Beaupre of Johnston, RI, Lori and Steve Herlin of Punta Gorda, FL, Thomas Beaupre, her 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In 2015, Jane and Dick moved to Chapel Hill Assisted Living in Cumberland, RI, where they resided until September of 2022. The family would like to thank the staff of Chapel Hill, and also the teams at Briarcliffe Manor Rehabilitation, Johnston, RI, and Continuum Hospice Care, W. Warwick, RI for their care.

Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Jane’s life to be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 10 a.m. - noon at the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro. Donations in her memory may be directed to New England Donor Services, 60 First Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 (https://neds.org/give/).
