Cecile R. Cornetta, 91, on April 11, 2023

NORTH ATTLEBORO – Cecile R. Cornetta, 91, a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Cornetta who passed away in 1983.

Born on January 3, 1932 in Attleboro, MA, she was the loving daughter of the late Elisa (Beaulieu) Clavette and the late Charles Clavette and his wife Leda (Lemelin) Clavette.

Cecile grew up in North Attleboro and was a 1950 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

She was a longtime employee of Mason Box Company, retiring in her 70s, and formerly worked at Liggett’s Drug Store in North Attleboro. Her primary role in life was as a wife and mother, lovingly making a home for her family.

Cecile enjoyed gambling and playing cards. She also was an avid bowler and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Bowling Team. An excellent cook, her famous meatballs were always a hit, as well as her Pizzelles at Christmastime. However, her favorite times were those spent in the company of her adoring family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted children: Dennis Cornetta, Sr. and his wife Deborah of Attleboro; Michael Cornetta and his wife Michele of North Attleboro; Pamela Padula and her husband Gary of Attleboro; and her daughter-in-law Melissa Cornetta of North Attleboro. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Dennis Jr., Derek, Krystle, Eric, Devan, Desmond, Cirsten, Cameron; and her great-grandchildren: Skylar, Max, Lily, Leo, Isabelle and Anthony. She was the dear sister of Lucille Schmidt of North Attleboro.

She was the mother of the late Christopher Cornetta and the sister of the late Claire McQuade.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro with the Reverend Michael Ciryak officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend.
