Richard D. McLaughlin, 90, on March 14, 2023

Richard D. McLaughlin, 90, of North Attleboro, a previous resident of Mansfield for 32 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Charlwell House in Norwood, MA. He was the beloved husband of Ethel (McGinley) McLaughlin.

Born on September 30, 1932 in Boston, MA, he was the loving son of the late Patrick H. McLaughlin and Anna (Collins) McLaughlin.

Richard grew up in the Boston area and was a 1951 graduate of Roslindale High School. He went on to further his education, attending Boston University for 2 years and attending 1 year at Northeastern. He then took night classes at New England School of law for 5 years, graduating in 1966 with a Doctorate of Law Degree.

A proud veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Navy, having been honorably discharged on August 7, 1954.

Mr. McLaughlin was a senior representative for All State Insurance Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1990.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife, Ethel, he is survived by his devoted children: Cathy Ann Vincuilla, James Michael McLaughlin and Aimee McLaughlin, his daughter-in-law all of North Attleboro. He leaves his 3 cherished grandchildren: Alexis Grace Vincuilla, Connor James McLaughlin, and Zachary Paul Vincuilla all of North Attleboro. He also leaves many nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

He was the brother of the late Dorothy Jacques.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial, that will be celebrated in his honor on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls. Interment with United States Naval honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Richard's name to Gentiva Hospice.
