Marie J. (Horton) Orticerio, 85, of North Attleboro, passed away into Heaven, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 3, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony F. Orticerio, who passed away on March 5, 2012.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 5, 1937, she was the loving daughter of the late Osmond B. Horton and Marguerite (Lacouture) Horton.
A lifelong resident of North Attleboro, she graduated in 1955 from St. Jean Baptiste High School. Over the course of her working career, she worked at the Sun Chronicle, Balfour and Garelick Farms.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader, avid seamstress and crafter extraordinaire.
Survived by her 4 loving daughters, Teresa Rickard and her husband Stephen , Michelle Baldasaro and her husband James , Lynne Breton, and Tracy Halkyard with whom she lived with, all from North Attleboro. She leaves a brother, Roger Horton and his wife Jean and sister-in-law Kathleen Horton all of North Attleboro. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony, her brother Osmond “Butch” Horton, her granddaughter Amy Halkyard, and son-in-law Joseph R. Breton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. Relatives and friends are most warmly invited to attend.
