Molly M. Calcagni, 102, on December 13, 2022

NORTH ATTLEBORO – Molly M. Calcagni, 102, a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Calcagni, who passed away in 1993.

Born on July 30, 1920 in North Attleboro, she was the loving daughter of the late Luigi Adinolfi and Philomena (Grimaldi) Adinolfi.

Molly grew up in North Attleboro and attended North Attleboro High School.

She was employed by the former H.F. Barrows Manufacturing Company in North Attleboro and the Foxboro Company in Foxboro.

A woman of faith, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Mark’s Church in Attleboro Falls and selflessly gave back to her community well into her 80’s by working at the North Attleboro Senior Center, as a nutrition aid, “packing the meals on wheels” for her fellow seniors. She was also a longtime member of the Sons of Italy.

In addition to her favorite times, those spent in the company of her adoring family, Molly was an avid bingo player, enjoyed routing for the Boston Red Sox, and baking her famous Italian “Grandma Cookies”.

She is survived by her devoted daughters: Joan Calcagni Caproni and her husband Roy of Bradford, MA and Janet Calcagni Peabody of North Attleboro. She leaves her cherished granddaughters: Melanie Caproni Martin and her husband George of Haverhill, MA and Joanna Caproni Howes and her husband Jason of Bradford, MA. She also leaves her great-grandchildren: Joseph, Laura, Olivia and Julie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the dear sister of the late James Adinolfi, Carl Adinolfi, and John Adinolfi.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM from the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in her honor at 11:00 AM in Saint Mark’s Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls, with the Reverend Michael Ciryak officiating. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Molly’s name to the North Attleboro Council on Aging, 204 Elm Street, North Attleboro, MA, 02760.
