Dorothy H. Baker, 94, on November 29, 2022

Dorothy H. “Dot” (Frizzell) Baker, 94, of Grove Street, North Attleboro, MA peacefully passed away on November 29, 2022. She was blessed to have had the opportunity of spending her last years in her own home thanks to her caregiver and son Evan (Randy) Baker. Also, we need to recognize the unconditional love, support and transportation provided by her niece and nephew, Laurie and James Frizzell of Plainville, Mass.

It is with gratitude that the family wishes to acknowledge the efforts of the many visiting nurses, physical therapists, and, lastly, Hope hospice volunteers and staff that also made her ability to remain in her home a possibility.

Dot was a “forever” North Attleboro girl. Born August 10, 1928 to Mildred (Peterson) and Frederick Frizzell of North Attleboro. She and her brother Frederick “Sonny” grew and played in their Sumner St., and later, Division St. homes. She was educated in North Attleboro public schools, spiritually guided at Grace Episcopal Church of North Attleboro, raised a family here, and eventually retired to the balmy environs offered in...North Attleboro!

Dot married Raymond H. “Ray” Baker, the love of her life, in 1948, going on to have three sons with Ray: Bruce, Zane and Evan (aka Randy). Ray passed away in 1993 leaving the true manager of the household in charge. She continued family traditions of hosting extended Baker and Frizzell family gatherings in her small home, as well as providing home space for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as needs arose.

Dot’s work history is also a North Attleboro story. She was employed at differing times in her life at local businesses including; Sayles Dairy, L.G. Balfour, Reeve’s Drug, L.S. Peterson, North Attleboro Town Office, and Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home. Many will remember Dot from her time in the Town Treasurer’s Office. Dot was always a social person, ready to engage in life stories and her own brand of advice.

Dot was predeceased by her parents Mildred (Peterson) and Frederick B. Frizzell, and her husband, Raymond H. Baker. She is survived by her brother, Frederick N. “Sonny” Frizzell now residing in Bonaire, Georgia, and his family; son Bruce and wife Bonnie Dushin and family of Richmond, Maine; son Zane and wife Andrea (Fellini) now residing in Athol, Mass. and family; son Evan Randy Baker of North Attleboro, Mass.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and their extended families. If each of the friends and family that were close to Dot were listed here.., needless to say she was an important friend and family member to many as they were to her. We will miss her.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro and will be officiated by the Reverend Bernard Hinckley. Interment will follow at Plainville Cemetery in Plainville. A time for visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
