James M. Taylor, Sr., 69, on October 14, 2022

NORTH ATTLEBORO - James M. Taylor, Sr., 69, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 14, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Helenann (Plath) Taylor of North Attleboro.

Born on July 3, 1953 in Brockton, MA, he was a loving son of the late Herbert and Barbara (Bowen) Taylor.

James served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina.

He held many jobs, but his favorite was working at Senior Metal Bellows in Sharon, MA. He was a loyal member of the North Attleboro Elks and the American Legion and was a past Cub Master for Pack 12 in North Attleboro. He was a communicant of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, where he served as a cantor and choir member.

James’s beautiful voice graced many ceremonies in town including Flag Day, at the 9/11 Memorial, and Veteran’s Day.

His favorite times were those spent in the company of his adoring family. He was at his most loving when he cared for all of his grandchildren, from newborn to preschool.

In addition to being the loving husband of 45 years to Heleann, he was the loving and proud father of James M. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Christine of South Attleboro and Christopher J. Taylor and his wife Lisa of Cumberland, RI. He was the loving grandfather of Ethan, Lucas, and Morgan. He was the fur dad of his beloved Nella.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, with the Reverend David Costa officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
