NORTON – Angelita Tampus Sherman, 76, of Norton, MA passed away surrounded by family, Monday, June 27, 2022 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital due to complications from a long battle with cancer. 

Born June 21, 1946 in Mindanao Philippines, she was a daughter of the late Salvador Ybanez Tampus and Emeliana Lomotos. 

Angelita emigrated to the United States in 1968 and started a family. Former employee for Ciba-Corning, Bayer, and Siemens, she was a prolific gardener spending many hours in her renowned yard enjoying the hummingbirds that she lovingly cared for.  As the vibrant light of her family and various communities,  she was active in her local Filipino community (PAMAS), talented bowler, award winning ballroom dancer, enthusiastic Patriots fan and many will miss Angelita, lovingly known also as Lita, Lit, and Angie.

She enjoyed word games, westerns and bragging about her grandchildren Andy and Hannah Reach who referred to her as “Big Ang”.

Angelita is survived by her three children: son William T. Howell, daughter Michelle Reach and her husband John Reach, daughter Jennifer Howell,  and her beloved Husband, Paul R Sherman,  as well as her extensive family in the Philippines including siblings: Fred Tampus, Robert  Tampus, Fe. Toling, Allan  Tampus, Salvador  Tampus Jr., Rosita  Plariza, and Roger  Tampus.

A time for visitation will be held on Saturday  July 9, 2022 from 11:00am until 3 p.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro Massachusetts. Burial will take place privately at a later date.
