Donna Lee Brothis, 57, a resident of Attleboro for the past 18 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Blue Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton, MA with her family by her side. She was the beloved companion of Winston “Lee” Newman of Attleboro.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, on July 12, 1964, she was a loving daughter of the late John T. and Madeline A. (Shay) Marland.

Donna grew up in Pawtucket, RI before moving to Wakefield, RI and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She later spent 10 years living in Denver, CO and also several years in North Attleboro before moving to Attleboro.

She was employed as a secretary in the office at Ocean Fresh Seafood in North Attleboro and also worked in retail at Bob’s Stores in South Attleboro and at Bay State Floral in Johnston, RI before retiring.

In her spare time, Donna enjoyed snowboarding, rollerblading, bicycling, and feeding the birds outside of her home. She possessed a “green thumb” and loved her plants.

In addition to Lee, her beloved companion of nearly 20 years, she also leaves her brothers: Dennis Marland of Woonsocket, RI and Tim Marland of North Attleboro, MA; and her sisters, Ruth Marland and Lucy Marland both of Attleboro, MA. She was the sister-in-law of Richard Thacher of Peacedale, RI and the niece of Joan Philbin of Texas.

She was the sister of the late Ellen Thacher.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
