ATTLEBORO - Raymond Pimental Ferreira, 80, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.

Born in Taunton, MA on July 1, 1941, he was a loving son of the late Joseph P. and Mary Carmo Dupont Ferreira.

Raymond grew up in Taunton and spent much of his childhood enjoying time at the Taunton Boy's Club. He was married in October 1962 and moved to North Attleboro to work and raise his family. Raymond worked as a polisher and plater in the local jewelry industry for many years and developed a great appreciation for fine jewelry. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cribbage. He took great pleasure in teaching his children as well as his nieces and nephews how to fish at local ponds. Ray enjoyed following the Boston sports, especially the New England Patriots.  He also had a love of animals and delighted in sharing moped rides with his dog Lucky who was an enthusiastic passenger.

Ray was known to many in the downtown area of Attleboro. He spent much of his time at the Attleboro Senior Center and the Attleboro Public Library. He frequently enjoyed his early morning coffee outside greeting people on their way by to catch the commuter train. Ray was known for, and will always be remembered, for his kindness toward others. He was generous with compliments and always sought to make others smile.

His favorite way to spend time was to be in the company of his family. He was deeply proud to be the father of Gary and Glenn and grandfather to their children.

Raymond is survived by his children: Gary R. Ferreira (wife Kimberly Martel Ferreira) and Glenn R. Ferreira (wife Angela Crowell Ferreira), as well as his former wife and long-time friend Letitia-Ann Desjardins.  He was the cherished grandfather (Pop-Pop) of Justin, Jessica, Mary, Brett and Lindsey.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Joseph Ferreira, Manuel Ferreira, Gloria Teters, Lorraine Frost, Gilda Schmidt.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5-7 PM.
