DUXBURY - Allen Oscar Riley, 94, beloved, father and grandfather "Buppa" passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022. Allen grew up in North Attleboro, a town he loved and spent the majority of his life in before retiring to Cape Cod. He was a son of Bertha and Newell Riley and had three
siblings, Elmer, Newell and Betty. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Grant in 1950, and together they had three children, nine grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. They remained married until Barbara's passing in 2015. In 1948, after serving in the Navy during World War Il, Allen along with his father and
brothers, started Riley Brothers Lumber. In the early 1960's, he founded Allen Riley Real Estate and became one of the most influential and extensive builders and
developers in the North Attleboro area. Allen, along with partners, permitted and developed the Emerald Square Mall. In addition, Allen was Vice-President and Director
of Foxboro Federal Savings and Loan and the longest serving Director in the Bay Bank Banking System. Allen also was a past President of the North Attleboro Kiwanas Club.
Upon retiring in 1987, Allen moved from North Attleboro to Cape Cod. Over the years he resided in Harwich, Orleans and Sandwich. He was a member of the Ridge Club in
Sandwich where he played golf regularly and enjoyed a life surrounded by neighbors and friends. Allen will be dearly missed and always remembered for his charismatic smile, positive
energy and wonderful sense of humor. When you saw that boyish grin and twinkle in his eyes, you knew he was about to make you laugh. He was loved by so many. He is
survived by his children, Deborah Bottomley and her husband, Fred Bottomley, of North Attleboro, Allen Riley and his wife, Cynthia Riley, of Douglas, and Ruthann DeLong and
her husband, Eric DeLong, of Fairhaven. He also leaves his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will never forget their "Buppa". A private Celebration of
Life Service will be held at a later date.
