Thelma W. Lemire, 98, on February 6, 2022

Thelma E. Lemire, 98, of South Street in Plainville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late George J. Lemire, who passed away on October 1, 2003.

Born in Plainville on November 4, 1923, she was the loving daughter of the late Adrian and Jean (Gardiner) Wheeler.

She was raised in Plainville where she attended school and resided there for over 50 years.

She had been a homemaker and worked as a secretary.

Mrs. Lemire was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro and enjoyed square dancing and the company of animals, especially cats. She donated to many animal rights organizations, including the ASPCA.

She is survived by her devoted son, Dr. Douglas Lemire and his wife Julia Harrington Lemire of Newbury, MA. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Donald Wiest of Kentucky.

She was the mother of the late Gwendolyn Lemire Wiest.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 12 noon in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11 AM. 

Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
