Marguerite R. Davis, 105, on January 24, 2022

Marguerite R. Davis, 105, a resident of North Attleboro for 80 years, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 24, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Davis who passed away on July 29, 2005.

Born in Fall River, MA on March 5, 1916, she was a loving daughter of the late Alfred and Rosanna (Desaulniers) Fontaine.

Mrs. Davis grew up in Fall River where she attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Durfee High School.

She was a homemaker, focusing much of her adult life on raising her children. Later, she became a familiar face at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, where she worked in the cafeteria and previously worked at the former Snack Shack in Plainville.

A woman of strong faith, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro for 79 years and was a member of St. Anne’s Sodality at the church.

In addition to her favorite times, those spent in the company of her adoring family – particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Marguerite loved cooking mostly anything and knitting.

She is survived by her devoted children: Robert W. Davis and his wife Judy of Plainville, Arlene J. Davis of North Attleboro, Carol Mooney and her husband Paul of Dorchester, and Linda Doherty and her husband Larry Slater of Maryland. She leaves her cherished grandchildren: Debra Deslandes and her husband Joseph of Exeter, RI, Leslie Fairbanks and her husband Donald of North Attleboro, Lisa Russo of Providence, RI, Carla Bryant and her husband Dan of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Kristen Dean and her husband Michael of Pennsylvania, Carolyn Hyde and her husband Nathan of Maryland, and Chris Doherty of Maryland. She leaves her great-grandchildren: Leah Deslandes, D.J. Fairbanks, Kyle Fairbanks, Laura Hyde, Cecily Russo, Will Bryant, and Nolan Bryant. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Stephen Bezema, the sister of the late Rose Gagnon, Wilfred Fontaine, Henry Fontaine, Edna Fontaine, and Edouard Fontaine. She was the mother-in-law of the late Stephen Doherty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Visitation has respectfully been omitted.
