Michael Alan Sharkey, 40, on November 16, 2021

             Michael Alan Sharkey, 40, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, after a valiant fight against cancer. He was the beloved husband of Candace (Williams) Sharkey.

                Born on June 18, 1981 in Boston, MA, he was the loving son of Alan and Leah (Boudreault) Sharkey of Plainville. 

                Mike attended Bishop Feehan High School where he played baseball. He went on to further his education and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2003 where he was a member of the Delta Sig fraternity. 

                Mike worked as a Program Analyst for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington D.C. 

                Mike was an avid Boston sports fan and golfer. He enjoyed spending his summers on Prince Edward Island. He was a communicant of Saint Jude's Catholic Church in Norfolk.

                In addition to his devoted wife of 12 years, Candace, and his loving parents, Alan and Leah, he is survived by his cherished daughters, Regan (Age 9) and Keira (Age 4). He is also survived by his sister, Danielle Sharkey of Plainville; by father-in-law, Robert Williams, mother-in-law, Constance Williams, and brother-in-law, Robert Williams, Jr. all of Fairfax Station, VA; and by godson Kolbe Bell of Bellingham.

                Mike will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues who will cherish their fond memories of him.

                Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, MA from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 14 Park St, North Attleboro, MA. The family requests unvaccinated individuals to please wear a mask during the services.
