Robert Edward Brown, Sr., on 09/23/2021 at age 83

PLAINVILLE – Robert E. Brown, Sr., 83, of Plainville passed away Thursday evening, September 23, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in  Providence, RI with his loving family at his side.  He was the loving husband of Gail (Peirce) Brown and the late Nora (Atkins) Brown.

Born September 21, 1938 in Providence, he was a son to the late Clarence and Jennie (Dorothy) Brown.

Robert raised his family in North Attleboro and lived in Canaan, ME for several years before moving to Plainville 27 years ago.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Teresa A. Letourneau and husband Dennis of Warwick, RI, Robert E. Brown, Jr. and wife Kelly of Summerville, SC, David H. Brown and wife Thessa of Nashville, TN, Jennie M. Bousquet and husband Roger of Plainville and Raymond C. Brown and wife Sharon of North Attleboro; a step-daughter April Peirce of North Providence;  A daughter-in-law Karen Brown of North Attleboro;

Siblings: Kathy Ahlquist, Penny Crowley, Fred and Earl Brown;

He was brother-in-law to Margaret Poole, Ruth Johnson, Scott and Danny Grant, David James, Richard Crowley, Dale Ahlquist, Anita Brown the late Priscilla Brown, the late Michael and Stanley Grant.

Also survived by 14 grandchildren: Jason, Nick, Connor, Sonya, Teesha, Amanda, Tommy, Katrina, Justin, Heather, Jared, Cassandra, Ryan, and Erin; and eight great-grandchildren: Adara, Emalee, Nathaniel, Trent, Robert, Dechlan, Gavin and Dylan;  and many nieces and nephews.

He was father of the late Adam R. Brown and brother to the late Clarence, Herman, John and Billy Brown and Bertha April.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 2 from 1-4 p.m. at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  Burial will be private at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum.  Masks are mandatory if not fully vaccinated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Pallative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826.  Robert’s family would like to thank them for the care they gave to Robert in the last days of his life.  They gave him comfort and dignity as well as support for the family.
