NORTH ATTLEBORO – Jean Chui Chun Fong passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2021, at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 31,1950 in China, Jean married the late Daniel Fong in Hong Kong in 1967, then immigrated to North Attleboro in 1968. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend, but first and foremost, she was a caretaker. She loved cooking delicious meals at home and making sure that family and guests were taken care of. One of everybody's favorites was her homemade fried rice which she served at annual family reunions at her beach home in Narragansett, RI. For many years, she ran the family’s restaurant, the House of Fong in Seekonk, where she wore many hats, including hostess, bartender, accountant and sometimes even cook. In retirement, she lived a more simple life where the happiness of her loved ones, especially her six grandchildren, brought her the most joy.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Daniel Fong, in 2013. She is survived by: her daughter Diane and her husband Gary Constantine; her daughter Bonnie Fong and grandchildren Andrew and Tyler Pomposelli; her son Stephen and his wife Theary Fong and grandchildren Kenneth, Alisa, Kevin and Elizabeth; her father, Shek Woon Ng; and her sister, Soi I Ng.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 6 from 5-8pm at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, August 7 at 12pm followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum, Attleboro Falls.
Jean was in the compassionate care of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
