Eugene J. "Tup" Pineo on May 31, 2021

Eugene Joseph Pineo (Tup) of North Attleboro, formerly of Norfolk passed at home on Monday, May 31, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 2, 1941in Wolfville, Nova Scotia he is the son of Guy and Mary (Malley) Pineo.  Tup grew up in a loving family, the youngest of eight siblings.  Precious memories at Orchard Ave were his early beginnings.

He met his wife Dorothy (Dot) in Wolfville at the soda shop.  As a young couple they had fun with their life long friends; Ernie & Carol, Bill & Elsie and Fife & Toonie.  Tup always said “Dot had the best legs in town”.   After their marriage in 1959, Tup and Dot welcomed their son Wendell.  They moved to Massachusetts in 1962 when Tup started his profession as a Carpenter working for his brother-in-law, Christian (Crit) Weir.   Countless homes in this area were built by the crew.   Long time residents of Norfolk, MA, Tup enjoyed helping friends and family with their construction projects and was always busy with his projects at home.  They recently moved to North Attleboro to be closer to their son and family.

Going home to Nova Scotia during the summer to visit with family was always a priority. Tup’s Gibson guitar would always be packed for the family gatherings; guitar music and singing could always be heard.  Learning the guitar at a young age with brother Mac, Tup enjoyed playing and had music in his soul.   In his retirement, vacations to Yarmouth, Cape Cod with his family was always a treasured time.

Walking the beach with Dot and enjoying seafood was a favorite past time.  A happy person who enjoyed life, Tup will be sorely missed.

Tup was the beloved husband of Dot; devoted father to Wendell and his wife Nancy (Werner); loving Grandpa to Eric and Scott.  Honorary Grandpa to Nick Werner and Chris Werner.  Loving Uncle of many, many nieces and nephews; dear Brother of Kay Isnor (Ray), Roberta Weir and husband Christian, Malcolm Pineo and wife Cora, Susie Andrews and husband Andy and the late Gerald, Stuart and Fred.

Family and friends are welcome to his Funeral Service at the Grace Episcopal Church, 104 North Washington Street, North Attleborough, on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11:00 am

The family would like to Thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Beacon Hospice for their unending care and

compassion during this difficult time.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
