NORTH ATTLEBORO – Lorraine Ferns, 85, a lifelong resident of North Attleboro passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Ferns and preceded in death by her son Thomas D. Ferns and grandson Joshua Ferns.
Born May 21, 1935 in North Attleboro, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Laura (Bosse) Ringuette.
Lorraine graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary School and North Attleboro High School and worked at Jewel Cross in North Attleboro.
Lorraine had a strong faith in God and it was apparent in all she did. Prior to the pandemic, Lorraine attended Mass each morning at Madonna Manor and this was often the highlight of her day. She was a person who handled what life presented to her with a calm acceptance and strength. Lorraine had a dry, unique sense of humor which was seen throughout her life and will always be remembered.
She is survived by a granddaughter Jessica Lange of North Attleboro and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was sister of the late Ernest, Donald, Raymond, Armand and Adrien Ringuette.
Lorraine's family would like to thank everyone at Madonna Manor for the care and kindness they showed Lorraine on a daily basis. They always had her health, welfare and happiness in mind.
A funeral will be held from Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Wednesday, April 7 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 o’clock. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
