NORTH ATTLEBORO – Roland E. Seymour, 89, of North Attleboro passed away early Monday, March 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his devoted family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Mei) Seymour for over 57 years.
Born March 22, 1931 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Emile and Lillian (Vandette) Seymour.
Roland was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School and in 1952 graduated from North Attleboro High School.
He worked as a panel designer at the Foxboro Company for 25 years and later worked as a salesman at Compton Doors in South Attleboro for several years before retiring from Door Systems in Framingham in 2001.
Roland was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Germany.
He was meticulous by nature and was an accomplished woodworker who loved making furniture. He also loved gardening and taking care of his yard. His yard was always landscaped perfectly. He also enjoyed traveling, especially his trip to Italy and travelled around New England.
He enjoyed family time and time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved his boat and fishing and picnics at random places he’d find with the boat.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Deborah and husband Rick Chretien of Attleboro and Scott and wife Michelle Seymour of Indiana; six grandchildren: Jennifer Church, Jared Chretien, Ashley Fantuzzi, William Seymour, Shane Seymour and Stephanie Seymour and seven great-grandchildren.
He was father of the late Bruce Seymour who passed away in 2020.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 6 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of one’s choice.
