Edith L. Murphy, 96, of East Bacon Street, passed away on February 11, 2021 in the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late James J. Murphy, Jr. who passed in 1974.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Antonett (Picarillo) Sestito.
Edith grew up in Roxbury and was a graduate of Jeremiah E Burke High School. She waitressed at the Coach Grill in Boston for many years.
She has been a resident of Plainville for the past 35 years.
Edith was an avid cook and was always making treats and meals for her friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed spending her time knitting and crocheting.
Edith is survived by her two daughters, Helen Summers and her husband Edward of Brockton; Susan Zhunga and her husband William of Kentucky. Her 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Edith will be held privately.
