Emma Louise Poirier, 94, of Sunset Acres in Plainville, formerly of North Attleboro and Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland J. Poirier who passed away in 2014.

Born on February 24, 1926 in Biloxi, MS, she was the loving daughter of the late John C. and Winnie (Hunt) Jones.

Emma spent her formative years and was educated in Biloxi, MS, moving to Oakhurst Street in North Attleboro in 1945 where she lived until 1983 at which time she moved to the Higgins Mobile Home Park in Plainville, now Sunset Acres.

She was a longtime employee of L.G. Balfour in Attleboro in the Stationary Department and also the Nifty Nook in North Attleboro as a sales clerk.

Emma loved traveling and going on cruises with her husband, playing bingo every Friday night, trips to Foxwoods, and especially loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was the best cook!

She was the devoted mother of Daniel R. Poirier and his wife Sally of North Attleboro and Philip J. Poirier and his wife Peri of Bourne, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of: Brett Poirier and his wife Michelle, Jeff Poirier, Jay Poirier, Ashley Poirier, Allison Poirier, Jody Poirier, and Jason Poirier. She was also the great-grandmother of: Ella Poirier, Brett Poirier Jr., Zephyr Poirier, Jayme Poirier, Gem Poirier, and Olivia Poirier.

She was the mother of the late Ronald Poirier who passed away in 2018.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 12:30 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 AM.

Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Attleboro Falls.

Please be advised that in accordance with the CDC and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, COVID-19 guidelines will be observed.
