Mary E. McParland 01/17/21

Mary Elizabeth McParland, 88, died peacefully on January 17, 2021 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in North Attleboro, MA after a long illness. She was married to the late Charles “Chuck” McParland for 47 years until his passing in 2004.

Mary was born to Donald and Florence MacIntyre in 1932, raised in Brookline, MA and was the oldest of seven children. She attended Brookline High School where she excelled in their art program. Although she was accepted to Massachusetts College of Art, she was unable to attend because of family circumstances at the time.

Mary and Chuck eventually moved with their children to Westwood, Massachusetts and it was then that she decided to work outside of the home and became Customer Service Manager at Osco Drug in West Roxbury where she worked for over 20 years.

After her retirement from Osco’s she and her husband retired to East Dennis, Massachusetts. There, they enjoyed attending many of the small theater productions, art galleries and museums in the area, and of course they loved spending time at the nearby ocean. Still producing her paintings as a hobby, Mary became an active member of the Yarmouth Art Guild where she held several positions. One of her greatest joys was to sit along Route 6A in the nice weather with her fellow artists to display and sell their creations. Mary was proud to have sold quite a few of her paintings.

Mary leaves behind 3 children, Lynne Jordan and her husband Roger of North Smithfield, RI; Erin McCann and her husband Brian of North Attleboro and Charlie (Eugene) McParland and his wife Kimberly of Belmont. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Among her siblings, Mary is pre-deceased by her sister Majorie Witkowicz and brother Donald MacIntyre along with her brothers-in-law Leo Parisi and Frank Witkowicz. She also leaves her sisters, Sandra Parisi, Lorraine Gallagher and husband Arthur, Donna Kitt and Kathleen Rossi and husband Arthur as well as her sister-in-law Phyllis MacIntyre.
