Darryl G. Moody, 45, of Attleboro, formerly of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer, at home. He was the beloved husband to the love of his life, Lucia M. Valencia, to whom he was wed on July 11, 2020 at York Beach, ME.
Born on August 1, 1975 in Attleboro, MA, Darryl grew up in North Attleboro and was a 1993 graduate of North Attleboro High School. He went on to further his education, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Fitchburg State College and later, his Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology from Fisher College.
He was currently employed by Instron in Norwood, MA for the last seven years as a Senior Account Representative and formerly held the position of Product Support Manager for two years. Previously, he had worked for Compex in West Berlin, NJ, where he held the position of US Sales and Marketing Manager for two years. Prior to this he had also been employed by Mini-Systems in North Attleboro and Attleboro, MA, in Sales and Marketing for eight years, as Marketing Manager for three years, and in Production for two years.
Darryl loved to play golf with his coworkers and friends and having firepits. He enjoyed taking trips to the canal on Cape Cod and York Beach, ME with Lucia. He even just enjoyed time spent relaxing with her and sometimes others, over a barbecue and some of his famous margaritas or mojitos with music playing various artists. Christmas was always a huge favorite of his and Lucia’s- decorating with the kids, playing Christmas music and watching holiday movies. The times that Darryl enjoyed the most, were spent in the company of his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, Lucia, he is survived by his parents: Glenn L. Moody and his wife Delores of Attleboro and Deborah J. (Dawes) Moody and her companion Bob Bukin of North Attleboro. He was the devoted father of: Andrew, Alyxandria, Isabelah, and Angelica Valencia all of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Eric Moody of Myrtle Beach, SC as well as two nieces, two nephews, two uncles, four aunts, and ten cousins. He was the brother-in-law of Lisa Vargas of Attleboro and Michelle Dias of Rhode Island.
Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 5-8 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, MA.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 12 noon in the funeral home with the Reverend Pamela Corcoran officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum in North Attleboro, MA.
In accordance with the CDC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, COVID-19 guidelines are being observed. Due to this, the funeral home is currently operating at limited capacity for services and those who arrive first on the day of the funeral will be admitted entry and others will be able to hear the service from outside the building. For the visitation, all will be able to pay their respects as they are admitted entry ten people at a time.
