Ernest Joseph Frechette, 84, of Groton, CT, formerly of North Attleboro and Plainville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. He was the beloved husband of the late Annette Marie (Villemaire) Frechette, who passed away on January 21, 2002.
Born in Lincoln, RI on January 26, 1936 he was the loving son of the late Edward J. and Beatrice (Mageau) Frechette.
Ernest spent his formative years in North Attleboro, attending grade school at St. Mary – Sacred Heart School and attended North Attleboro High School.
Mr. Frechette was employed for many years by the Foxboro Company of Foxboro where he held the position of receiving manager for 26 years and also had been employed as an armed security guard at the Balfour Company of North Attleboro for 28 years.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to spending time with his adoring family, Ernest enjoyed detailing his cars, watching NASCAR, going to car shows and learning about antique cars.
He is survived by his devoted daughter Ann-Marie Moore and her husband, David as well as his cherished grandchildren, Diandra Pals and Deklyn Moore, all of Mystic, CT.
Due to the measures currently put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all funeral services will be held privately.
Interment will be held at Shepardville Cemetery in Plainville where Ernest will be laid to rest with his wife, Annette.
