ATTLEBORO – Kathleen E. Mercier, 52, of Attleboro passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her devoted family. She was the loving wife of Jeffrey Mercier for over 31 years.
Born November 23, 1967 in Stoneham, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Janet (Bumpus) Gruhn.
Kathy was a longtime resident of Attleboro. She graduated from Attleboro High School in 1985 and then the Community College of Rhode Island in 1987. In 1988 she graduated from Taunton Beauty Academy and started work as a hair stylist.
She worked at LaCave Suzanne in North Attleboro for six years from 1988 to 1994 then at the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield for 18 years from 2000-2018.
Kathy enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting and loved gardening. Above all she cherished time spent with her family, friends and pets.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children: Kara, Kyle and Joel Mercier all of Attleboro; five siblings: Dawn Parker, Deborah Lacourse, Paul Gruhn, Ruth Gruhn and Reana Derovin. She was sister of the late Charlie Zarach.
She’s also survived by uncles and aunts: Bruce and Laura Bumpus and Raymond and Bonny Lane and Uncle Robbie.
Burial will be private at Mt. Hope Cemetery and Arboretum. Services will be held at a later date.
