NORTH ATTLEBORO – Elizabeth D. (Betty) Reed, 99, formerly of Marshfield, MA. Marion, MA. and Port Orange, Fl. passed away on Sunday August 25, 2019 in the Branches of North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Reed.
Born on August 24, 1920 in Brockton, MA. she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Martha (Benson) Benson.
Elizabeth graduated from Brockton High School and attended Bentley School of Accounting.
She was secretary at the Robert G. Reed Company in Boston and was Co-Owner of the Reed & Reed Insurance Agency, Inc. in Braintree and Duxbury.
Betty was an avid golfer, bridge player and in her later years loved to play scrabble. She volunteered at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, MA. and while living in Florida during the past 24 years at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL.
She was a wonderful human being and her children never thought of her as a stepmother, she was Betty, a loving part of a family who was so special that she held a unique status as a family member who needed no introduction, no title! Her love for family will always be part of their lives and Betty will live on for them as they return that love with fond memories of a wonderful person who came to them and became one with all. Betty has crossed the bar and their world is not quite the same.
She is survived by daughters: Joanne Spring of Pembroke, MA., Bette Ann Bicknell of Port Orange, FL.; Sons: The late Robert Reed of Boerne, TX, Richard Reed of Bennington, NH., and Lawrence Reed of Plainville, MA. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 7, 2019 at 11am in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA. Burial will be private at a later date.

Betty’s life at the Branches Assisted Living in North Attleboro, MA for the past 3 months was one of happiness due to the wonderful and loving care provided by the staff of the residence. This fund will benefit any of these employees who find themselves in financial distress due to a life event. We cherish their love for Betty.
**Memorial Services for Betty Reed have been cancelled for Saturday 7, 2019 due to unpredictability of the storm which will pass our shores that morning. The family wishes to express their thanks to all of Betty's friends who planned to attend that day. The family will hold a graveside service at sometime in the future.**
