ATTLEBORO – Leo J. Casavant, 71, of Attleboro passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Roberta (Dufresne) Casavant for over 42 years.
Born December 7, 1947 in Pawtucket, RI he was a son of the late Paul and Blanche (Beliveau) Casavant. Leo was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and worked as a cook at Peg Leg Pete’s and Colestone’s Restaurants in North Attleboro for over 20 years.
He also worked as custodian at Mercy Mount School in Cumberland, RI for 7 years before retiring as a custodian at AMVET elementary school in North Attleboro in 2016.
Leo enjoyed fishing and camping and being outdoors by a fire. He loved planting his vegetable garden and flower garden and cherished time spent with family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Leo Casavant of Norton; his daughter, Shelly St. Rock and companion Bobby Orrell of Fall River; two step-sons: Jeffery and Kevin Dusablon both of North Attleboro; and grandchildren: Derek Wynn, Damian St. Rock, Brent Casavant, Jodi Casavant, Shawn Casavant and Kimberly Orrell.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation at 8 p.m.
